Community Survey
The City of Oakdale contracted with Polco to conduct the National Community Survey (NCS) in 2024. The NCS uses standard questions across more than 500 communities nationwide to compile benchmark data.
Survey results for Oakdale were compared to national benchmarks along with results from the City's last community survey conducted in 2020.
The 2024 Community Survey received 462 completed surveys from a random sample of 3,004 households, a 15 percent response rate.
Percentages reflect ratings of Excellent or Good.

- 86% Remain in Oakdale for Next Five Years
- 91% Recommend Living in Oakdale
Oakdale's Highest Performing Areas Compared to National Benchmarks:
- Housing, variety of housing options and availability of affordable quality housing
- Overall confidence in Oakdale government as well as its openness and transparency to the public
- Street repair, street cleaning and snow removal services
- Attracting people from diverse backgrounds, openness and acceptance toward people of diverse backgrounds and opportunities to participate in community matters
