Why Work for the City of Oakdale?

Oakdale is a mature, yet growing community located on the western edge of Washington County in the Twin Cities east metropolitan area. With a current population just over 28,000, we expect Oakdale to grow to over 35,000 upon completion of current planned development. Oakdale covers almost 11 square miles and is home to over 11,000 households. The City's annual budget is over $28 million, and we hold a Aa1 credit rating. Oakdale operates under a Council-Administrator form of government with a Mayor and four at-large Council Members who serve staggered terms.

Message from the City Administrator
Welcome! We are a full-service organization, including public safety, community development, public works and recreation, providing a wide variety of services and amenities. These operations are supported by comprehensive internal services such as fiscal management, communications, and human resources. We employ over 140 full- and part-time and seasonal staff, and I am proud of our dedicated, energetic, innovative and talented team. It is this commitment and passion that keeps the City on track for continued success and lets us meet the growing and changing needs of this vibrant community.

If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, consider Oakdale! We look forward to hearing from you.
