Park Projects

Using the Park System Plan and Capital Improvement Plan as guiding documents, the City of Oakdale is engaging in several park projects in 2026. Below you will find the latest information for each project including current project status, construction notices and more. All dates are weather-permitting and subject to change. Community input is important to the City of Oakdale. Engagement opportunities for residents and park users to provide input on specific parks will be posted on this webpage and promoted through City communication channels, including social media.

Tanners Lake Park

400 Glenbrook Avenue N
In 2026, the City will start work on a number of improvements at Tanners Lake Park. They include relocating and constructing a new playground with an accessible path, turfgrass restoration at the site of the old playground, pickleball and tennis court improvements, constructing a parking lot off Glenbrook Avenue N and improving ballfield drainage.

Tower Park

868 Hadley Lane N
Tower Park improvements in 2026 include new playground equipment and seating, an accessible paved trail to the playground and turfgrass restoration on the hill. Sand playground surfacing will be replaced with mulch to meet required playground surface standards.

Golfview Park

6144 56th Street N
Improvements in 2026 at Golfview Park include replacing and expanding the playground and adding a concrete plaza with seating. Sand playground surfacing will be replaced with mulch to meet required playground surface standards.

Helmo Station Park

Near Helmo Avenue N and 2nd Street N
Construction on a new City park, Helmo Station Park, is expected to begin in 2026. Planned park amenities include a playground, pickleball courts, basketball half-court, walking path, benches and picnic tables, shade structures, dog run, open space and parking lot. The park is anticipated to open in 2027.

Willowbrooke Fields

Willowbrooke Fields, a new park in the Willowbrooke neighborhood, started construction in 2025 and is expected to open in 2026. This park will have a grass soccer field, four pickleball courts, an artificial turf volleyball court, open lawn picnic area and a restroom shelter building.

Prairie Trails Park

7468 40th Street N
Prairie Trails Park, located in the Willowbrooke neighborhood, is the newest park in Oakdale. This natural resource park features open space, a walking path, and seating areas.
