WHAT: 2023 Arbor Day Tree Giveaway

WHEN: Saturday, April 29 - 9:30 to 11:30 AM

WHERE: Walton Park, Bandshell Parking Lot

MORE INFORMATION: The City will hand out a total of 200 trees, free to Oakdale residents in honor of Arbor Day. There will be four varieties of trees with 50 of each available for pre-registration. The event is drive-through style. Participants must have registered for a tree pick-up time in advance. The limit is one tree per Oakdale address/household.

REGISTRATION DETAILS: Opens Monday, April 3 via an online form. Those wishing to receive a tree must select the type of tree and a pick-up time. Pick-up times will be in 15-minute increments. There are a limited number of trees and pick-ups available per time slot. The registration form will be updated as times/trees are reserved.

NEW IN 2023: Participants will be able to pre-order a tree watering bag for $23. Master Gardeners will be on site to hand out pre-ordered bags and educate the public on how watering bags can be used to help give young trees a strong start. 

Tree watering bags must be ordered and paid for in advance. They will not be sold at the event. To order a bag, please select on the registration form if you would like to receive a water bag. You can pay via cash, check or credit card in person at Public Works (1900 Hadley Avenue N) during regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 3 PM). You can also send a check via mail.   

Tree watering bags can also be ordered online directly from the manufacturer. Any orders completed in this manner would be shipped directly to the purchaser.
