Oakdale welcomes Jen Vail, registered yoga teacher and trainer and certified Pilates instructor, who will bring three brand new yoga classes to the Discovery Center! Jen was most recently the director and founder of YogaFresh in Woodbury, MN from 2007-2023. Her unique offerings have different focus areas and are accessible for all experience levels. She strives to create a non-judgmental, fun and safe environment to explore the benefits of yoga, barre and Pilates.

Are you ready to roll out your mat for the first time?
Learn the origins of yoga and begin to explore foundational shapes with accessible options to create comfort and accessibility to skillfully integrate the practice of yoga into your life. We will experience a variety of styles and poses so you can leave with a greater understanding of yoga breathing techniques, yoga class etiquette and how to pick the right class for you.
Your guide, Jen Vail has been teaching yoga for over 25 years and has designed this workshop to help you feel more confident and prepared to attend any beginner friendly or all level class. The most common reflection from her students after attending this workshop is that they simply wish they would have started practicing yoga sooner.

Rise and shine with intention. Experience a customizable and dynamic yoga practice designed to build strength, develop balance, and increase mobility and mindfulness. This all-levels class encourages participants to move at their own pace to explore shapes in a safe and sustainable way that will support a healthy range of motion and a more fulfilling practice experience.

Wind down your day in the glow of twinkling lights. Explore a gentler flow designed to melt away tension with mindful movements to increase strength, balance, flexibility and relaxation in a sustainable way. This all-levels class will illuminate your intentions and calm your nervous system with minimal weight-bearing on the wrists to prepare you for a good night sleep.
Roll and Release: Foam Rolling | Tuesdays | 10:45 to 11:45

Take the next step in your wellness journey or complement an existing movement routine with foam rolling and gentle stretches. This all-levels class uses self-myofascial techniques to increase your overall mobility and flexibility to reduce muscle tension and melt away stress. Feel better faster and reduce muscle soreness as we work through chronically tight areas of the body without the spa-like price tag of a deep-tissue massage. Bring your yoga mat and we provide the foam rollers to use during class.
