Touch a Truck

Touch a Truck

Tuesday, Sept. 10 | 5 – 7 PM | Walton Park Parking Lot

Don’t miss this unique opportunity where dozens of vehicles will be on hand for children to climb, sit in the driver’s seat, touch, view up close, pose for photos and learn about how various trucks work.  Kids of all ages can experience what big trucks are really like. Free.
There will be concessions available for purchase, plus there will be FREE ice-cream!

Saturday, September 28 | 11 AM – 4 PM | Walton Park

Join us at Walton Park for a full day of jumping, bouncing, diving, and exploring a sea of inflatables!  Over a dozen unique inflatables will be on site for this day of nonstop fun, for all ages. Bounce castles, obstacle courses, and giant slides are just a few of the inflatables you will see. Plus, there will be a kid’s DJ and great food available for purchase. Free.

Join Once Upon A Star's Elsa, Ariel, Belle, and Aurora for an enchanted evening with your favorite adult date. We'll enjoy a craft, princess snack, dancing, and royal fun. You’ll take home a princess tote bag and castle gift too1 All "couples" will have a photo taken with next day proof access. Register by September 20. $32 per couple.
(Adults - please bring your camera for memorable photo opportunities, including a group princess photo with your little princess!)

Curious Critters Club (Ages 3 to 6)

Select Friday mornings | 9:30 – 11 AM | Discovery Center

Children participate in discussions, play games, watch DVDs, and create projects. Register one week prior to class. $7 per class.

Story Time for Preschoolers: "Bats"

Wednesday, September 18 | 10:30 AM | Discovery Center

Join a librarian from the Oakdale Library for a special preschool story time! We will have fun talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing together.  We will focus on concepts such as counting, colors, sharing, emotions, patterns, and the alphabet. A simple craft will follow.  A free program recommended for developmental ages 0 to 5 and their grown-ups. Please call 651-747-3860 to reserve your spot! Free.

Farmers Market

Wednesdays, now through October 2 | 2 - 6 PM | City Hall Parking Lot

Purchase locally grown products that promote healthy lifestyles, while sustaining local agriculture at the Oakdale Farmers Market. Pick up a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, a bouquet of flowers, a loaf of bread, dessert, and so much more! Check out the Community Booth to see what is happening locally, and enter your name for a chance to win the Vendors Variety Gift Basket. This is the vendors' way of saying thank you for supporting the community and local businesses.


ViniYoga is a therapeutic style of yoga which adapts to the needs of each student. Classes are held in a serene setting overlooking the beautiful nature preserve and include a blend of gentle yoga postures, breathing, and simple meditations.  Viniyoga helps the body build strength and flexibility while remaining steady and comfortable.
Beginners are welcome as are those who have practiced yoga before: all students are encouraged to move at their own pace. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat.  Instructor:  Jen Brandt, Owner and Yoga Therapist at Body & Mind Yoga Therapy.

Hands Only CPR Training Plus

Thursday, September 12 | 6 – 7:30 PM | Discovery Center
This free Wellness 50+ event will include Hands-Only CPR Training, blood pressure checks, and you will learn how to help a choking person. The session will be taught by paramedics from the Oakdale Fire Department. Reserve your spot by calling 651-747-3860, as class size is limited. Free.


Yoga Therapy for Better Sleep

Sundays, Oct 6, 13, 27, Nov 3, 10, 17, 24, Dec 1 (No class 10/20) | 6 – 7:30 PM | Discovery Center
Sleep is essential for good health. If you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep there are lots of yoga tools that can help. In this 8-week series we will learn gentle yoga movements, calming breathing techniques, and peaceful meditations to help your body relax and digest the day, allowing you to get a more restful night’s sleep. Each class will also include Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle tips to support an evening routine that will lead to better rest. Taught by Jennifer Brandt, Yoga Therapist and Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist.
$85 for the session.
