OAKDALE SUMMERFEST COMMUNITY CELEBRATION

June 23 to 28 | Walton Park

Come together for the annual Oakdale Summerfest Celebration! Put up your lawn chair and collect candy at the parade, dance to live music at the bandshell, feast at the food trucks, race in the 5K, bring the kiddos for youth activities, hunt for the medallion, enjoy a fireworks extravaganza, and more!

Farmer Market Root Vegetables

Farmers Market

Wednesdays, June 4 to October 8 | 2 to 6 PM | Oakdale City Hall Parking Lot

Shop fresh and local at the Oakdale Farmers Market for an array of fresh produce, sweets, meats and more from local vendors on Wednesdays throughout the summer. Food trucks also attend regularly.

Kayaks stage on the shore

Strawberry Full Moon Kayak

Wednesday, June 11 | 7:30 to 9 PM | Square Lake, Stillwater 

Moonlight paddle includes time on the water and fresh strawberries and lemonade on shore. Kayaks, equipment and life jackets provided. Bring a flashlight and bug spray, and dress for the weather and water. Wear shoes that can get wet. Park vehicle permit required ($7 daily). $35 per single kayak or $15 with own kayak (Ages 12 and up). Register before the deadline one week prior to class date.

Amped Up Entertainment - The Raptor Center

Thursday, June 12 | 10 to 11 AM | Discovery Center Backyard Amphitheater

Swing around to the Discovery Center’s backyard amphitheater for free programs for all ages. 

Program will be held indoors in the event of inclement weather.

Reserve a picnic shelter for your graduation party, shower, birthday, reunion, or other celebration! You can now check availability and make a reservation online. Rental fees are due at the time of booking.

Bring your friends, family, and lawn chairs to Walton Park for a variety of concerts on Wednesday nights though the summer. You're sure to find a live performance that will fit your musical taste. Free.

Oakdale Nature Preserve 5K

Saturday, June 28 | 7 AM Check-in, 8 AM Start Time | Discovery Center

Time to start gearing up for the annual Oakdale Nature Preserve 5K, taking place during Summerfest Weekend! This race is for runners and walkers of all abilities. The route starts and finishes at the Discovery Center. In partnership with Eberhard Group Real Estate Solutions. $30 per person. *T-shirt registration deadline is June 13. No t-shirt given to those registered after June 13. Day of registrations welcome.

Saturday, June 28 | 1 to 2:30 PM | Walton Park, OAA Parking Lot off 15th Street N 

Grab your suit and towel to beat the heat! Oakdale Fire will bring the water. Run through a fire hose spray, toss water balloons and play water games.

Small World Camps (Ages 3 to 6)

Monday to Thursday | 10 to 11:30 AM

Campers play games, create arts and crafts, and participate in special events for each weekly theme. 

  • June 9 to 12: Bubble Blast Camp at Oakfield Park (registration deadline extended through Thursday!)
  • June 16, 17 and 18*: Space Ranger Training Camp* at Eberle Park
  • June 23 to 26: Superhero Academy at Oakdale Nature Preserve, 4444 Hadley Ave N (Discovery Center Shelter)


Register before the deadline one week prior to camp. $30 per week, per child. *The week of June 16, 17 and 18 is $22.50 (3 days).

ITS Truck

In the Streets: ITS Truck

The ITS Truck will be in the streets and at a park near you this summer! The ITS Truck will operate Monday to Thursday with two stops per day. These drop-in recreation programs are FREE, and no registration is needed. Check out the new schedule for 2025!

Outdoor Story Time and Craft

Tuesday, June 17 | 10:30 to 11:30 AM 

Join storyteller April from PaperPie for a story and craft while enjoying the outdoors at the Nature Preserve amphitheater. This free program is recommended for kids 10 and under with no registration required. Programs held inside in the event of inclement weather. Books will be available for purchase to encourage continued summer reading for kids.

Eder School

One-Room Schoolhouse Camp

June 23 to 26 | 9 AM to 4 PM | Eder Schoolhouse, 4442 Hadley Avenue N

Experience life in the 1888 Eder Schoolhouse! Learn about history, practice old-fashioned skills, and enjoy recess time and old-fashioned games. Running water and modern restrooms available in the Discovery Center. Bring your own lunch. Morning and afternoon snacks provided, so please note any food allergies. Camp in partnership with the Maplewood Area Historical Society. Register before the deadline one week prior to camp. $290 per child (grades 1 to 3).

"Silly" Library Story Time

Wednesday, June 25 | 10:30 AM | Discovery Center

We’ll have fun talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing together with a Washington County Youth Librarian. We will focus on concepts such as counting, colors, sharing, emotions, patterns, and the alphabet. A simple craft will follow.

A free program recommended for developmental ages 0 to 5 and their grown-ups.

Zumba in the Park

Tuesdays, | 6:30 to 7:30 PM | Eder Schoolhouse Lawn

“Zumba with Sadie” is a dynamic, full-body dance workout designed for people of all fitness levels to get out and move their bodies. Dance to music from around the globe including Latin, Caribbean, SoCa, African, Salsa, Bollywood, Calypso, Hip Hop and Pop! Sadie is a licensed group fitness instructor and can sign off on participation for employer heath incentive and wellness programs. Rainout sessions will be made up the next day on Wednesdays. Registration deadline one week prior to session start.

  • Session 1: June 17 to July 15 | 5 weeks | $55

Adult Yoga and Pilates

Join yoga teacher, trainer and Pilates instructor Jen Vail for all-levels yoga. Registration deadline is prior to start of program. 

Morning Yoga Session 1: Tuesdays, 9:30 to 10:30 AM | June 17 to July 15 | 5 weeks | $89

Rise and shine with intention. Experience a customizable and dynamic yoga practice designed to build strength, develop balance, and increase mobility and mindfulness. This all-levels class encourages participants to move at their own pace to explore shapes in a safe and sustainable way that will support a healthy range of motion and a more fulfilling practice experience.  Please bring your own mat. Drop-in for single class within a session is $20 if space is available. 

Pop-Up Foam Roller Release | Sunday, June 22 | 11 AM to 12:15 PM | $25

This all-levels comprehensive foam rolling experience uses self-myofascial techniques and a foam roller to alleviate tension and reduce muscle soreness. Space is limited to 12 participants. Pre-registration is required. Please bring a mat. Foam rollers will be provided to use during class. This class is not recommended for individuals with osteoporosis or who are pregnant.

Pop-Up Mat Pilates | Thursday, June 26 | 9:30 to 10:15 AM | $20

Strengthen and tone, decompress and improve posture with this low-impact Pilates mat practice. This all-levels class will focus on fundamentals with modifications and challenges offered. Space is limited to 12 participants. Pre-registration is required. Please bring a mat. Other props are provided. This class is not recommended for individuals with osteoporosis or who are pregnant.

Pop-Up Twilight Yoga Session 3: Thursday, June 26 | 6 to 7 PM | $20

Wind down your day in the glow of twinkling lights.  Explore a gentler flow designed to melt away tension with mindful movements to increase strength, balance, flexibility and relaxation in a sustainable way. This all-levels class will illuminate your intentions and calm your nervous system with minimal weight-bearing on the wrists to prepare you for a good night sleep. Please bring your own mat.

Oakdale Wellness 50+

Oakdale Wellness 50+ is a volunteer initiative making Oakdale and Washington County healthier by offering health-focused activities for persons 50 and over that lead to measurably improved wellness. 

Oakdale Wellness 50+ is supported by Washington County, the City of Oakdale, and the Vital Aging Network (VAN).

WALKS AT THE OAKDALE NATURE PRESERVE | Wednesdays at 9 AM | No registration is necessary to join these weekly walks. Meet in front of the Discovery Center. 

WELLNESS MOVIE CLUB: Everything Everywhere All at Once | Tuesday, June 10 | 1 PM | Oakdale Library | Call the library at 651-730-0504 to register. DVDs can be checked out to view prior to the club meeting date.

TRANSITION TO NEW TRANSIT | Thursday, June 12 | 1 to 3 PM | Discovery Center | Come learn how easy and economical it is to use new public transit options. Be ready to ask questions! Register online or by calling 651-747-3860. 

PLAY MAHJONGG | Monday, June 30 | 1 PM | Discovery Center | Join us to play Mahjongg. No sign up needed.

Pickleball players return the ball

Adult Pickleball Lessons

Select Wednesdays | 6 to 7 PM | Tanners Park Pickleball Courts 

Learn the basics of pickleball. Equipment is provided, but indicate at registration if you need equipment. $30 per session (ages 18+). Registration deadline is one week prior to start of session, or when full. 

  • Session 3: July 9, 16, 23, and 30
