Reserve a picnic shelter for your graduation party, shower, birthday, reunion, or other celebration! You can now check availability and make a reservation online. Rental fees are due at the time of booking.

Bingo players listen for the next number

Sundae Bingo

Sunday, April 27 | 1 to 3 PM | Discovery Center

What could be better than ice cream sundaes and two hours of bingo!? Join us for this fun-filled Sunday afternoon. Make your own ice cream sundae while shouting out BINGO! Prizes are awarded to winners of every game; every participant eligible for two game winning prizes. All participants will be eligible for the prize raffle drawing at the end of the event (must be present to win the raffle). $10 to play. Register before the deadline one week prior to bingo date. All ages welcome!

Park Clean Up Week

April 21 to 27 | Oakdale City Parks | Choose Desired Park

Help rid our City of Oakdale parks of the debris and clutter that has accumulated over the months by volunteering during Park Clean Up Week! Businesses, scout groups, schools, daycare centers and civic groups are encouraged to participate. Parks may be cleaned anytime during park clean up week.  

Garbage bags are provided and each participant will receive a complimentary thank you gift. Get involved by signing up for a park online or by calling 651-747-3860.

Community Walk

April 1 to October 31, 2025 | During Park Hours | Oakdale Nature Preserve

Walk your way to less stress, lower weight, better health, and great rewards! It’s easy! Register online before your first walk. Must be an Oakdale resident to participate. After enrolling, submit completed mileage forms inside the Discovery Center (or in the outdoor drop box) on the same dates as your walks in the Oakdale Nature Preserve. Mileage walked outside of the Oakdale Nature Preserve and forms submitted late will not qualify. Recreation staff will track all qualifying walked mileage up to 150 miles. Verifying Oakdale Residency (using a photo id) will be required before reward is claimed.

Junior Gardeners: Seed Starting

Sunday, April 13 | 10 to 11 AM | Discovery Center

Learn new techniques for growing your own flowers and vegetables from seed. Decorate a flower pot, pick the seeds to plant, then bring your plant home and watch it grow! Free program for kids ages 12 and under. Reserve a spot online or by calling 651-747-3860.

"Seasons" Library Story Time

Wednesday, April 30 | 10:30 AM | Discovery Center

A Washington County Youth Librarian will be visiting the Discovery Center for a series of special preschool story times!

We’ll have fun talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing together. We will focus on concepts such as counting, colors, sharing, emotions, patterns, and the alphabet. A simple craft will follow.

A free program recommended for developmental ages 0 to 5 and their grown-ups.

Mandala Rock Painting

Tuesday, April 22 | 6 to 8 PM | Discovery Center

Find peace and relaxation while creating an intricate and original Mandala Rock with Dot-A-Doodle Art. Choose your rock design. $30 per person (ages 18+). Registration deadline one week prior to class.

Painting Class | "River Reflections" 12x12 Canvas

Friday, April 25 | 11 AM to 2 PM | Discovery Center

Join local artist Sandy Danus of Cheerful Hearts Studio as she leads you through a fun and inviting, acrylic paint class. Learn a new skill and have a great time! All supplies are included and our cheerful, step by step instruction is easy to follow, even if you have never picked up a paint brush before. Come away with your own beautiful finished canvas creation that you can be proud of. $30 (ages 18+). Register before the deadline one week prior to class.

Adult Pickleball Lessons

Select Wednesdays | 6 to 7 PM | Tanners Park Pickleball Courts 

Learn the basics of pickleball. Equipment is provided, but indicate at registration if you need equipment. $30 per session (ages 18+). Registration deadline is one week prior to start of session, or when full.

Adult Yoga

Join yoga teacher, trainer and Pilates instructor Jen Vail for all-levels yoga. Registration deadline is one week prior to start of program. Drop-in for single class within a session is $20 if space is available. 

Morning Yoga Session 3: Tuesdays, 9:30 to 10:30 AM | May 6 to June 3 | 5 weeks | $89

Rise and shine with intention. Experience a customizable and dynamic yoga practice designed to build strength, develop balance, and increase mobility and mindfulness. This all-levels class encourages participants to move at their own pace to explore shapes in a safe and sustainable way that will support a healthy range of motion and a more fulfilling practice experience.  Please bring your own mat. 

Twilight Yoga Session 3: Thursdays, 6 to 7 PM | May 8 to June 5 | 5 weeks | $89

Wind down your day in the glow of twinkling lights.  Explore a gentler flow designed to melt away tension with mindful movements to increase strength, balance, flexibility and relaxation in a sustainable way. This all-levels class will illuminate your intentions and calm your nervous system with minimal weight-bearing on the wrists to prepare you for a good night sleep. Please bring your own mat.

Oakdale Wellness 50+

Oakdale Wellness 50+ is a volunteer initiative making Oakdale and Washington County healthier by offering health-focused activities for persons 50 and over that lead to measurably improved wellness. 

Oakdale Wellness 50+ is supported by Washington County, the City of Oakdale, and the Vital Aging Network (VAN).

WALKS AT THE OAKDALE NATURE PRESERVE | Wednesdays at 9 AM | No registration is necessary to join these weekly walks. Meet in front of the Discovery Center. 

WELLNESS MOVIE CLUB: Belfast | Tuesday, April 8 | 1 PM | Oakdale Library | Call the library at 651-730-0504 to register.

WALK AND LEARN ABOUT SAFETY | Wednesday, April 9 | 9 to 11 AM | Discovery Center | The Oakdale Police Department will join the Wellness Wednesday Walk for a community-focused crime prevention walk and discussion. This is a unique opportunity for participants to interact with law enforcement, ask questions about crime prevention, and learn about safety strategies relevant to the City of Oakdale. Police personnel will also share insights into the department’s initiatives while promoting wellness. Social time for treats after.

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE | Thursday, April 24 | 9 AM to 3 PM | Oakdale Discovery Center | Sponsored by Oakdale Wellness 50+, Oakdale Recreation and the Maplewood-Oakdale Lions Club. Sign up at redcrossblood.org or 1-800-733-2767 to sign up. 

PLAY MAHJONGG | Mondays, April 28, May 5, 12, 19 | 1 PM | Discovery Center | Join us to play Mahjongg.  No sign up needed.
