Construction has begun on this year’s Street Improvement Project. The contractor has split the project into four areas for coordination and scheduling.

- Area 2: Hadley Avenue N from 40th Street N to 50th Street N Area 2 Map
- Area 3: Oakdale Nature Preserve Trail Reconstruction Area 3 Map

Improvements on Hadley Avenue N include miscellaneous storm sewer repairs, spot curb and gutter replacement, full asphalt replacement, street light replacement and bike trail reconstruction on the west side of Hadley Avenue N.
The improvements in the residential areas east of Hadley Avenue N include miscellaneous storm, sanitary and water main repairs, spot curb and gutter replacement, street light replacement and full asphalt pavement replacement.
Dresel Contracting is the contractor for this project. They have successfully completed many similar local projects. All project work is scheduled to be completed by the end of September.
Current and Planned Work
Area 1: 46th Street N, 47th Street N, 48th Street N and 49th Street N (From Hadley Avenue N to the East)
- The contractor plans to complete the first lift of asphalt in residential driveways this week.
- The initial base lift of asphalt is tentatively scheduled for next Tuesday and Wednesday (June 18 and 19). This may change due to weather. You will be able to drive on the new asphalt as soon as it is rolled (within 10 to 15 minutes of it being paved). There will be no on-street parking during the paving process.
- For those with irrigation damage on 48th and 49th Streets due to the construction process, the irrigation repair contractor plans to complete repairs this week. Do not hire your own contractor to fix your irrigation issues as the City will not be reimbursing residents for doing so.
- A temporary water shut off is tentatively planned for next Tuesday (June 18) for utility repairs on 49th Street N. Any residents that will be affected will receive notification prior to disruption in water usage.
Area 2: Hadley Avenue N (40th Street N to 50th Street N)
- Spot utility repairs will begin this week. Please be mindful of additional traffic control and construction crews while driving through the area.
- Spot curb repair on the east side of Hadley has started this week. This process may continue into next week dependent on weather. Please be mindful of additional traffic control and temporary traffic lane shifts while driving through the area.
- Washington County will begin work on CSAH 13 (50th Street N) on Monday, June 17. This will affect local traffic. Please be aware of traffic detours in that area.
Area 3: Oakdale Nature Preserve Trail Reconstruction
- Work is planned to start after July 8.
Area 4: North Fire Station Parking Lot Reconstruction
- Parking lot surface removals are tentatively scheduled for the early part of next week, weather permitting. Emergency vehicles will have access to the building during this process.
Reminders
As construction progresses, please use caution traveling within the project area. Also, please do not park vehicles on the street from 7 AM to 7 PM within the project area unless instructed to by the contractor to accommodate driveway work. This will help the contractor to work more efficiently and will create a safer work zone. Thank you, as always, for your ongoing patience and cooperation.
