Community WalkApril 1 through October 31 | During Park Hours | Oakdale Nature Preserve Earn rewards for walking! Residents of Oakdale will have the opportunity to explore and walk the 200 acre nature preserve and record their miles. Stop by the Discovery Center after every walk and Oakdale Recreation will record and track your miles throughout the season. The program is for Oakdale Residents only. ID will be required for proof of residency. Before your first walk, stop in the Discovery Center to register. Walkers write down their miles each day they visit, and turn in their mileage using either the indoor or outdoor drop boxes at the Discovery Center. Reach the ultimate goal of walking 150 miles total to earn a $25 gift card. Choose either Target, Hy-Vee, or Kwik Trip for a gift card.

Oakdale Nature Preserve Hikes: Bird WalkSaturday, April 23 | 8 to 9:30 AM | Discovery Center The preserve is in an incredible place for bird watching. This hike is for beginner birders, experienced, and curious alike. We will discuss birding basics and the importance of the preserve for migrating birds. This hike will stay on paved trails. Help rid our City of Oakdale parks of the debris and clutter that has accumulated over the months by volunteering during Park Clean Up Week! Businesses, scout groups, schools, daycare centers and civic groups are encouraged to participate. Parks may be cleaned anytime during park clean up week.
