No Spikes or Stakes in City Parks

The City of Oakdale asks the public to refrain from placing any spikes, stakes, nets or other sharp objects into grassy areas and ball fields at City parks. Significant damage has been caused to City irrigation systems this summer from these objects being driven into water lines. This creates large areas of washout, mud and debris to gather and flow to irrigation heads that become plugged. It also can be extremely dangerous if a gas line is hit with a stake or spike.

Making repairs to these systems is costly and time consuming. These incidences are occurring at an alarming rate. Any help the public can provide in avoiding use of these objects on City property is greatly appreciated.
