Grass Height Enforcement Update for May

Bee pollinates a pink dandelion plant in front of blurred image of long grass blades

This May, the City of Oakdale ordinance regarding grass height will be temporarily suspended to allow residents to help nurture pollinators. Forgoing lawn mowing can help increase pollen and other foraging resources for pollinators that are emerging from dormancy.

Residents planning to pause lawn mowing in May are encouraged to notify the City by email at kenneth.meuwissen@oakdalemn.gov. Participation is voluntary, and residents are welcome to continue mowing as normal during the month of May if they choose.
