Nature Program Instructor

The City of Oakdale has a great opportunity for a Nature Program Instructor in the Recreation Department, housed at the Oakdale Discovery Center!

Position Description:

Responsible for teaching environmental education programs to preschool children throughout the year at the Oakdale Discovery Center. Prepares and provides fun hands-on environmental education programs for children, develops arts and crafts activities, and constructs, creates or makes models of nature craft projects.

Hours:  Part-time, Friday mornings, 10 to 12 hours per month 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three years of college coursework in natural sciences, education, outdoors/environmental education, environmental studies, recreation and park programming or related field.
  • Experience in working with children in an educational setting is preferred. 
  • Experience in teaching naturalist, outdoor and environmental education and recreation program preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Hourly Pay:  $13/hour
