Police Officer

(Oakdale, MN, Pop. 28,315) The City of Oakdale is accepting applications for full-time Police Officer in the Oakdale Police Department. This hiring process seeks to fill future vacancies.  Candidates who have a strong desire for problem solving, community policing, and want to work for a department with an excellent culture of integrity and professionalism are encouraged to apply.  

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree
  • Completion of Law Enforcement Skills Program
  • Licensed or eligible to be POST licensed by November 1, 2020. 

The current labor agreement provides for a starting salary of $27.28 hourly, with wage increases after six months, one year, two years, and $39.35 after three years of service, per the 2020 contract.  Lateral entry candidates can start at an hourly rate up to $35.41 and up to 40 hours of vacation at start of employment.  Exceptional benefits package, including: health benefits and 96 hours of paid Holiday time.
