Bring your friends, family, and lawn chairs to Walton Park for a variety of concerts on Wednesday nights though the summer. You’re sure to find a live performance that will fit your musical taste. Free!

Join us as a variety of unique, beautiful, living reptiles come to the stage, for an up close look at this part of the animal kingdom.

Tower Park Water Slide

Tower Park Water Slide

Friday, August 3 | 1 – 3 PM | Tower Park

Oakdale’s very “cool” and popular water slide is back! Grab a blanket, pack a picnic lunch and spend the afternoon cooling off at our water slide at Tower Park, located at 8th Street and Guthrie Avenue. Children must be accompanied by an adult. At each waterslide event, nonperishable food and/or toiletry items will be collected for the local food shelf. Free!

Movie in the Park: Paddington 2

Round up the kids, some lawn chairs or a blanket, and enjoy a night under the stars as the movie Paddington 2 plays on the big screen at the band shell! Concessions available starting at 7 PM. Free!

Youth Camps (Ages 3 to 11)

Now – August 9 | Time dependent on age group | Oakdale Parks

Campers play games, create arts and crafts, and participate in special events for each weekly theme. 

Mini Camps (Ages 6 to 11)
Monday through Thursday, 1:30-4PM

  • August 6 to 9 at Walton Park: Final Fling
  • August 6 to 9 at Oakdale Nature Preserve: Final Fling
Register by Thursday. $33/week.

Summer Storytime for Preschoolers: Investigating Our Senses

Wednesday, August 15 | 10:30AM | Discovery Center

Join Katelyn, from the Oakdale Public Library, for a storytime focusing on our senses (especially touch, sight, and sound). We will have fun talking, reading, singing, writing, and playing together. A simple craft will follow. Call 651-747-3860 to reserve your spot. Free.

Curious Critters Club (Ages 3 to 6)

select Friday mornings | 9:30AM - 11AM | Discovery Center

Children participate in discussions, play games, watch DVDs, and create projects. $7 per class. Register one week prior to class!

Farmers Market

Wednesdays, now to October 3 | 2 to 6PM | City Hall Parking Lot

Purchase locally grown products that promote healthy lifestyles, while sustaining local agriculture at the Oakdale Farmers Market. Pick up a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, a bouquet of flowers, a loaf of bread, dessert, and so much more! Check out the Community Booth to see what is happening locally, and enter your name for a chance to win the Vendors Variety Gift Basket. This is the vendors' way of saying thank you for supporting the community and local businesses.

Therapeutic Yoga Flow

Discovery Center

Therapeutic Yoga Flow is a gentle form of yoga. Focusing on fluid movement patterns, strength, and balance while rhythmically linking our breath with each posture, pausing at times to reconnect and center. Beginners are welcome, as are those who have practiced yoga before. All students are encouraged to move at their own comfortable pace.
 
Tuesday Morning Yoga Flow:
August 7 to September 25 (no class August 14), 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. $61.

Wellness 50+ “Exploring Our Parks”

Saturday, August 23 | 6:30 AM–7:45 PM | Discovery Center

Lori Meyers is the Guest Services Supervisor with Washington County Parks and has been with the county for 21 years. She is very knowledgeable about how to enjoy all the amenities provided by our beautiful parks! Come join us and receive a "Guide to Washington County Parks." Lori will be presenting information about our Washington County Park system and what it offers visitors, including lakes, beaches, trails, campgrounds, programs and events, picnic pavilions, and more. Cold drinks and snacks will be available. Register by calling 651-747-3860. Free.
