The Minnesota Department of Transportation is holding an Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) open house on proposed improvements to Interstate 694, south of 10th Street to the I-694/494/94 Interchange in Oakdale and Interstate 494, south of Tamarack Road to the I-694/494/94 Interchange and north to Interstate 94 in Woodbury. The EAW outlines the purpose of the project and the anticipated social, economic and environmental impacts of the proposed action.
MnDOT proposes repairing and surfacing concrete pavement, replacing specific I-94 bridges, replacing all the interchange loops, and reconfiguring ramps to eastbound I-94. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2019 and continue through fall 2020. The proposed road work would address deficiencies of the I-94 bridges and pavement and improve mobility and safety.
The public meeting will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018, from 4-6PM at Woodbury City Hall (Ash and Birch conference rooms), 8301 Valley Creek Road.
There will not be a formal presentation. The public meeting will be held in a non-formal, open house format. The open house is an opportunity for citizens to learn about the proposed project, make comments and ask questions. Along with displays about the project, staff from MnDOT will be available to answer questions. Comment cards will be available at the open house for people who wish to provide written comments.
The EAW document on the project is available for public review at: www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/projects/i94-494-694/documents.html and during business hours at the Oakdale Public Library, 1010 Heron Avenue North, Oakdale, MN 55128.
