Seeking submissions for the "If I were Mayor" art and essay contest

The City of Oakdale is pleased to announce a new “If I were Mayor” contest for youth in grades K-12. Participants are asked to create a masterpiece that demonstrates what they love about Oakdale or what they would do to make Oakdale even better.

Entries can be in any art form including (but not limited to): essay, sculpture, photograph, drawing, etc. All submissions will be included in the “If I were Mayor” exhibit which will be on display at the Oakdale Discovery Center art gallery during the month of March 2020.

One winner will be chosen in each of three age groups: elementary school, middle school, and high school. Winners will have an opportunity to speak at the gallery reception and be recognized at the council meeting on March 10, 2020. Submissions can be dropped off at Oakdale City Hall or the Oakdale Discovery Center by Friday, February 7, 2020.
