Oakdale, MN (Population: 28,115) is hiring a full-time Maintenance Worker for the Streets Division of the Public Works Department.

Duties for the Maintenance Worker position include manual and semi-skilled work in maintaining Oakdale’s street systems, signage, and drainage systems; and snow removal. Position also assists with activities of the forestry, parks, and utility divisions. Position requires on-call and is subject to overtime and unscheduled overtime. Reports to the Street Superintendent. EOE. Position is subject to federal regulations for CDL drug and alcohol testing.
Minimum requirements include: High school diploma or GED; Class A driver’s license with a tanker endorsement and no restrictions other than fifth wheel or manual transmission, and a driving record acceptable with the city insurance carrier; One year of vocational/technical training or work experience in street maintenance, plowing operations, or equivalent; The ability to respond to after hour callbacks and return to Oakdale within 30 minutes. Preference may be given to an individual who has graduated from a technical college or has experience in the operation of street maintenance equipment. Candidates not currently employed by the City of Oakdale must submit to and successfully complete a thorough background investigation prior to appointment to the position.
2019 starting pay range is $21.28 to 24.27 per hour, with top pay of $29.97 per hour. Benefits include excellent health and dental insurance, PERA pension, paid holidays, and ample PTO package.
