Development of the city's budget begins each spring as a joint process involving the City Council, Administrator, Finance Director and all department heads. The budget calendar is developed to make sure the required deadlines are met and there is adequate time for a thorough review of the proposed budget.
The city holds a Truth in Taxation meeting each December and the final levy and budget are adopted by the City Council.
